The Story Behind It
Why I Had To Do Something
In 2013 Seaford High School lost one its most kindest and sweetest students. In February of 2013 the Seaford High Schools band went on a trip to California during spring break and they came back with one less student. Joseph Tutaj was a sophomore in high school, and he was that person you would want to be friends with because he could always brighten your day. But, it doesn't matter anymore because Joseph is no longer with us after getting very sick on a school band trip and passing away. Joseph could still be with us today if the right steps were taken one he first felt ill. To find out more on Joseph's story see the link below. On the next band trip a student just made it to the hospital in time before their pancreas exploded because they had pancreatitis. The next trip after that is where I come in. I am just one of many students who got sick on the school band trip to Hawaii. I had multiple asthma attacks in one day and I was in excruciating pain. But what was I suppose to do with no doctor on the trip to help me? Am I suppose to trust my lives in the hands of people with music degrees? My school goes on trips to Costa Rica, Europe, Hawaii, Florida, California etc. These places are thousands of miles away and some have completely different medical systems, and the people running these trips have music, language or science degrees. Would you trust your child's life in these hands? Well I thought I could until I got sick and realized that I had no one.
